Increasing Calories & Coping with Injury - Calorie Roller Co

Wow, I'm so glad I read another post about increasing calories tonight. I realized tonight after looking at my nutrition reports that I haven't hit a net 1200 in several weeks.

I used to be a big exercise nut. I was an avid runner, biker, snowboarder, hiker..... I went to the local gym often. I swung kettlebells. All of this stopped when I had a severe foot injury (I shattered my heel in September). I was in a boot or crutches for 4 months. I've struggled with emotional eating for a while, and was binging a bit. I was super depressed and anxious. I think I had a binge eating disorder honestly. It is hard for me to admit that. I'm an otherwise strong person. I have a Master's Degree in Engineering. I was an athlete. This was my weakness.

I'm so paranoid about gaining weight at this point. I went from one extreme to the other.

I wasn't exercising like I had before. I started using MFP and hoped it would help curb my binge eating, and make me more aware of my intake. And, from that aspect, it has. I've lost a few pounds of post surgery winter fluff, but I realized tonight that I'm not eating enough. I feel like I've been on a roller coaster and like I've gone from one compulsive eating behavior to another.

I am trying to find that healthy medium.
