Breakfast helps break your nights fasting, thus helping get your metabolism going. Breakfast has also proven to make people binge less during the day. But if you are under your target I guess that wouldn't be an important issue for you.0

i was randomly thinking about this the other day - and technically the first meal of the day is always breakfast in the traditional sense of the word (breaking the fast)..
but most people say you should eat breakfast to fuel your body for the day etc. i always feel better when i eat breakfast, but i know plenty of people that have lots of success not eating until noon.
is it tradition breakfast foods that make you heave, or just eating in the morning?0 -
It makes very litle difference to your metabolism as far as i know but its a good habit to get into. Once i trained myself to eat breakfast, it used to make me feel ill, i would be a lot less hungry during the day.
Now if i skip breakfast i notice a significant difference in energy during the day.0 -
Breakfast is no less or no more important than any other meal.0

Timing doesn't really matter, it's more important to get into a routine that works for you so you are eating about the right amoutn (not too little, not too much) during the day. If you really can't eat til 11am, then make that your first meal and make sure you plan your other meals to get in enough calories during the day. If you're exercising in the morning though, you might want to experiment and see if you have more energy if you have a little snack first - it really helps me.0

IM always full of energy lol, infact by half 7 this morning I WAS DANCING ROUND ROOM LOL0

I could never face solid food for breakfast, so I had a protein shake in the mornings instead. I have now moved up to a Natures Valley Bar on weekdays and Eggs on Toast (admittedly about 1 1/2 hours after I wake up) on weekends. One day I might eat a "real" breakfast but hey, it's working for me so far0

I never used to eat breakfast either, but for me personally, it stopped me getting starving hungry before lunchtime and bingeing on rubbish. I find that if I eat a healthy breakfast, I can feel fairly content until lunch, which has really helped me to eat better. If you really can't face the thought of food in the morning, though, don't do it. It's all about personal preference. However, you say you've been under your calories and if that's worrying you, you could try eating a mid-morning snack when you feel up for food. Something that's higher in calories but still good for you, like nuts, maybe with some fruit and yogurt, could be good.0

I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT TO EAT BREAKFAST BECAUSE IT BREAKS YOUR FAST FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY. IT ALSO KICKSTARTS YOUR METABOLISM. NOT ONLY THAT, I WORK IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL AND I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KIDS WHO EAT BREAKFAST AND HAVE A DRINK IN THE MORNING FROM THE KIDS WHO DONT. THEY ARE SLOUCHY AND UNRESPONSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST.....ITS A DIFFERENT STORY LATER ON WHEN THEY HAVE HAD THIER SNACKS AND LUNCH ETC.
THE SAYING GOES :- BREAKFAST LIKE A KING
LUNCH LIKE A LADY
SUPPER LIKE A PAUPER
IT STANDS TO REASON YOU SHOULD FUEL YOUR BODY BEFORE PUTTING IT TO WORK.......AS FOR MAKING YOU HEAVE, WHY NOT HAVE A HEALTHY SMOOTHIE INSTEAD....ITS ALL GOOD STUFF !!!!
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR QUEST:bigsmile:0 -
IF by 11 am im hungry I will have a snack say a banana, then lunch bout 12, may have another snack before dinner and on times sometimes after, my cal intake goes up and down and if I go over on the odd day dont worry as it seems to overall balance out, another thing im told is eat my exercise cals, ive linedanced for over 8 years now I put it as exercise but its moulded in as my lifstyle now just as if some-one is walking all day in work, apart from that and every day chores my lifestyle is pretty sedate, theres no way could I eat the extra calories from that0

Eating breakfast stops me binging, and also helps me meet my goal calories... I try to make breakfast a pretty big meal:
Bowl of oats with soy milk and honey
small banana
snack pack of raisins
piece of wholewheat toast
cup of tea
glass of water
420 cals for breakfast!0 -
im not worried bout being under as I eat when im hungry some days I eat more than others, if im hungry bout 11ish I will reach for a banana or a healthy snack to see me through, of course then I put these as snacks not breakfast0

First congratulations on being under your calorie goal by a few calories per day, that is to be commended.
I'm sure you've heard this.... "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" Here's why....
For a majority of people breakfast sets you up for HOW you eat during the remainder of your day. Consuming a good breakfast in terms of nutritional value not necessarily calories takes your body out of the catabolic state it was in during your sleep cycle. During sleep your body goes into a "state" of mild starvation, this is the reason for the name Breakfast, which actually means BREAKING a FAST (Fasting = not eating for a long period of time). Obviously this assumes sleeping for 8 hours.
Typically your food choices will be better if you eat breakfast, however it appears you've found a way to curb your desires for poor food choices although you don't consume a breakfast.
There are massive amounts of data that supports eating 6 small meals per day is EXTREMELY beneficial to your metabolism if you are in a regular exercise routine. For most people this nearly requires eating at least a small breakfast in the morning.0 -
couldnt even face a shake, I have one of my glasses of water and a nice cup of tea I do have what I class as a snack on times bout 11, maybe if I put it in as breakfast instead of snack , peeps wouldnt say anything lol0

now that makes a lot of sense and will certainly take on board what you say and I suppose it works for me, thankfully im never ever tempted to binge tho I DID NICK ONE OF MY LADS BISCUITS LAST NIGHT.... shame on me lol0

You can break the fast 12 hrs or even 16 hrs later. Just keep doing what works for you.0

Personally I feel ill if I dont have something.
I eat at 8am, 10am, 12 noon, 3pm, 6pm and 8-9pm ... small regular meals/snacks otherwise I feel dizzy or binge of junk!
breakfast is usually a handful of mixed nuts (and sometimes dried fruit too) , 10am is usually fruit, 12 noon is usually something like soup, salad or curry without rice, 3pm is usually fruit or veg and 6pm is usually quorn based with some carbs and 9pm is usually something light0 -
I never used to eat breakfast and have made myself eat it and I do feel better, much more awake and aware. Saying that my daughter is like you and cannot face breakfast at all and will eat a snack atbreaktime in school and is very active and athletic so I don't suppse it makes a difference at all. Even eating breakfast I struggle to meet my calorie targets some days and I know that I need to eat more d.uring the day, but I find it hard fitting all the food in throughout the day and I feel sick if I eat too much. As long as you are happy and losing weight then keep doing what you are doing0
-
well Ive been on here 2 weeks now and in total 9lb and more than happy with that, if it slows down which it probably will then i;ll do something to kick start it again until then thanks for everyones input but think i'll do exactly as I have done as it seems to work for me and my daughter, maybe for some this wouldnt work BUT i GUESS WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT.
i WISH EVERY ONE OF YOU SUCCESS WITH YOUR JOURNEYS X0
