So, I tried the Spiking Method everyone talks about yesterday. I ate 2000 calories instead of 1200. I woke up this morning and gained 2 1/2 lbs. *SIGH*

The food hasn't probably been digested properly yet, and it could be water retention. Whenever I indulge more than usual, I stay off the scales for a day or too, as the number on the scale is generally higher and it can be discouraging, but it is impossible to gain fat overnight.
1 pound equates to 3,500 calories.0 -

I only weigh once a month because I started obsessing over scale fluctuations, and part of that was how I'd seem to gain 2 lbs. after a "spike" meal. I'd have to agree; it's most water weight. I really don't watch my sodium when I choose a spike dinner. So the water weight sheds in a couple days. Drink lots of water, eat some grapefruit, etc. Things that will help flush it from your system. Day-to-day weighing is too inaccurate. Don't get discouraged.0
