Any Experts.... Biking -- toning or weight loss?

Help! I'm getting a bike this summer! Super-excited!

Is it more for weight loss or toning? I just don't see it as the same as running and it's not the same as lifting or Pilates persay.

    Biking is cardio. You may see some strength gains from riding hills, but it still works primarily on type I muscles and your endurance systems.

    So I guess weight loss? Toting is really nothing more than bringing your bf% low enough to show what is underneath.
