I wouldn't count that as "exercise" per se. I'm sure you burned more calories today than your average day, just because standing takes a little more effort... but it would be difficult to measure the actual difference. You might allow yourself some extra calories if standing all day is not a regular thing for you, but it provided no cardiovascular benefit and did not really stress your body out like a workout would. I'm not sure if that helps. :flowerforyou:

It's definitely not cardio, you might have gained a little (miniscule) amount of muscle tone depending on if you don't normally stand very long, but unless you are doing more work (in the metabolic sense of the word) then you aren't really burning extra calories. Standing might use muscles that don't normally get used very much, but those aren't big muscles, nor are they doing a lot of extra work (mostly core muscles I believe, for the balance, everything else is skeletal), and core muscles (abs, lower back...etc) aren't big enough to factor a whole lot into calorie burn.

    I stand corrected. :flowerforyou:

In a way it is an exercise. Of course it depends on what you did while standing. Like bending, reaching and such. That is an exercise.
