I am at a healthy weight now and I think I should be doing a lot more strength training than I am. (That post with all the strong women pictures has inspired me lol)

I'm planning on starting the couch to 5k next week if I'm feeling better (I have the flu I think) but that's only 3 days a week so I was thinking I could do a few days of strength training on top of that. What are some workouts I can do (at home, I do not have a gym membership and can't afford one) ?? I know there are squats and push ups and that sort of thing but I think I need some type of program to keep at it. Are there any good DVD's that you know of?

    Anybody????

I am looking at Jillian Michaels DVD's... I'd rather have one that doesn't incorporate cardio because I'd be doing cardio separately. I want a workout that mostly focuses on strength.

Has anyone tried No More Trouble Zones?? Is that a good one? It has good reviews...

    Also, the Yoga Meltdown one??

Thanks in advance (if anyone even replies lol)

(I know p90X is a good one but I just don't want to spend 120 bucks or however much it is)

Do you have anything you can use as weights? You'll want to add some resistance. Basic dumbbells work great, or you can fill gallon water jugs to provide weight. Body weight is good from some exercises (push-ups, pull-ups), but only goes so far (don't get me started on body weight squats).

I'm doing Chalean Extreme. It's mostly strength but you need heavier weights for it.
