I want to be an addict again!

Enough said..... That subject says it all. I was totally addicted to the elliptical machine and I was feeling great. I was down 25 pounds and was fitting in clothes and comfortable in clothes that I haven't been comfortable in a LONG time in. THEN I went on a cruise and fell off track, got home, got into my old eating habits and fell apart. I turned to food when i was bored, tired, nervous and needed that comfort food.

This week I started back into MFP after being off track since July of last year. I gained 20 pounds of those 25 back. I am upset because I worked so hard before and got 15 pounds away from my goal weight of 135. It is easier said than done. I just need some motivation. I used to have it every day. I would look in the mirror and say wow I look great. Now, I'm saying, "Wow, I need to run away and hide!" This week started my new regimin. I hope to get at least 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week and to look at the elliptical as my addiction instead of food..............

Anyone else struggling with this? What's your story... Lets get a little support group here for some motivation!

You in?!

I went through a similar loss of motivation. I had lost 40 lbs before a vacation in the Bahamas. I gained a little while on vacation but didn't go overboard. Got home and was able to get right back into it. Less then a week later got nailed by Hurricane Irene and lost everything. For a long time after that I didn't care anymore. I was in a downward spiral for about 5 months and regained the entire 40 before I was finally able to find the motivation to get back on track. I still have had some bad stretches where I've been losing and regaining the same 10 lbs over and over but I know I can do it so I'm not giving up.

First off, I want to say I am so very sorry for your loss with Hurricane Irene. I hope things have gotten a little bit better since then. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I am so glad to hear that you are not giving up! I too have said that numerous times this morning. I am tempted by junk food all day long in my office and I just have to keep my head on straight and say no. I did it before... why not now right??? Good luck on your journey to success!
