Increasing your calories to loose weight

I have been reading alot about increasing your calorie intake everyday to loose weight BUT and this probably a really stupid question, If I am eating between 1200-1300 calories a day and loosing weight...shouldn't I stay at this number? I am just confused because everyone has their own opinion and I am making myself anxious thinking I will hinder my weight loss. I have been very sucessful so far. :ohwell:

If you're losing weight with your current strategy, there's no need to up your calorie intake. However, if the scale won't budge and you're doing everything right, it might be time to up your calories a bit. This usually happens when someone is training really hard several days a week and the 1200 to 1300 calories is just not enough to keep their body fueled. Keeping your body properly fueled is important for weight loss.0

Maybe stay at what you're doing now as it's working for you and if/when this stops then up your calories. Trial and error as we know our own bodies best. Good luck on your journey0

Thank you everyone I am sure you read this and said "duh" but becuase I have finally been so successful I am afraid of making a "wrong" move and damaging the progress thus far. Thank you again for your help. I love MFP!0

You're doing great, Crystal! As long as you're netting around 1200 a day after exercise and still losing, keep it up! That 1200 is pretty essential to give you the proper energy you need for a good burn. When I started here I was adamant about NOT eating my exercise calories back. Fast forward 3 months and after 40 lbs, I stopped losing. When you plateau, you'll know your body needs a change.0

Thank you!!! I hope I can follow in your footsteps.0
