Speaking of how we feed our kids
What kind of things do you feed your kiddos for breakfast, snacks, lunch... The reason why I'm asking (as if it matters, but I'm turning into my mother where I essentially have to tell everyone my life story... though within reason since this is the internet and all).... is because I have a one year old is weaning off the bottle... She loves to eat food and will pretty much eat whatever we give her... and while, I know what I can eat to eat healthy... the whole feeding a baby healthy things is new territory for me. So I'm just trying to get some ideas here as I don't want to bore my child to death with the same foods over and over again. She isn't too into processed meats either (you know things like hot dogs or lunch meat).

I am very lucky, my 4 year old daughter LOVES veggies and fruit. She loves spaghetti the most so I make spaghetti squash and she can't tell the difference
She loves the bad stuff too like chicken nuggets, kraft dinner, candy etc.. I only let her have this once in a while and she doesn't seem to mind. She see's mommy eating healthy and she want's to be just like mommy so does the same I always let her know how healthy what she is eating is and she feels quite please with herself. If she wants something bad and I feel she has had too much bad food for the week I will tell her no because she may get a tummy ache and she is o.k. with it.0 -
Minus anything with honey in it, my toddler gets a smaller portion of what I eat......... in general.
Breakfast is usually oatmeal with some fruit in it. I put nuts in mine, too, but not in my kids.
Snacks are yogurt with fruit, some apple slices, or occasionally Teddy Grahms if we are out.
Lunches are sandwiches or left overs from dinner.
Dinner is whatever I want to make, making sure that parts of it will appeal to my kids- steamed veggies, corn muffins, tortillas, etc on the side that they will eat even if they hate the main dish.
Both of my kids love beans..... black beans, chickpeas, cannellini beans, etc. They love them. We have them as a side dish for many dinners..........

Mine loves fruits and veggies too... she will eat that over meat just about every time... but then I think she is also a bit of a carboholic like her mother too...0

Mine love fruits, vegetables, peanut or almond butter (natural, no sugar or fillers. Actually, we make our own almond butter.) They also eat oatmeal or other grain porridges, eggs in a variety of forms (boiled, scrambled, omelets, poached, quiche, etc) They are also in love with string cheese and greek yogurt (they like regular too but prefer greek.) My youngest (age 7) will often eat banana and peanut butter together either stirred together in a bowl or in a small tortilla for breakfast. We don't eat cereal and vary rarely eat pancakes, waffles or other carby goodness for breakfast but when we do it's always whole meal flour and we eat some protein with it.
You have a great opportunity with one so young to just never add the crap food. My oldest (17) used to eat diced tomatoes like they were candy! We cut up a fresh tomato and put it on her high chair tray and she'd just nom away. She did go through a stage where she didn't seem to like anything but she's now realized she's just particular. She says she isn't picky, she's a "foodie". But she does love veggies and fruit as long as they're prepared well (say no to mushy vegetables!)0
