I can say with hand on heart , there is so much info out there and I can't remember when or how I ever lost weight in the past......
Diet and Exercise - I don't know where to start. maybe I need someone who knows about this stuff to write out a plan for me.

start small, i started by not changing anything,, just logging everything, so i could see where i could cut back, and then just moving your body and meeting calorie goals, you can go from there!0

Thank you . I will try that.0

I recommend the couch-to-5k plan.0

Your plan
1 - Make the commitment (you're here so good start ;P)
2 - Eat REAL food.
3 - Move more today than you did yesterday.
4 - Have fun and be happy.
You got this! I'm here if you need more encouragement though :P0 -

i agree!! You don't realize how much youre eating until you log it all. Buy a food scale. walmart 19 bucks that way you measure and log the correct amount. Good luck hun! You got this!!0 -
Set small goals for yourself weekly or monthly. The first thing I did was switch from regular soda to diet. Then after a few weeks I replaced one diet soda each day (I was used to drinking 3-4/day) with water. Now I only allow myself 1 diet soda each day. Baby steps help to change your lifestyle without feeling like you're depriving yourself.0

I agree with iheartyarn - start small! Don't try to make EVERY change at once. I started with water. I tried to replace my daily sodas at least once with water. It SUCKED at first. I hated water. But I thought it was the simplest change I could make. It took a while, but now I very rarely drink soda. Maybe once every couple weeks.
For exercise, you could start very simply with just walking. Maybe you can get a friend or your significant other to walk with you. Or if you have a dog I'm sure they would love it
And definitely try to log everything you eat. You will learn SO much from it. Try not to get frustrated if you go "over" your calories a lot at first, it's hard, but you just have to learn from the bad days. I used to have no concept of how many calories I ate, and now I swear I can sense exactly what 100 calories tastes like, haha! (100 cal is what I try to stay at for when I snack, so it's a number that's set in my head )
And definitely add some friends! add me if you'd like when I have crappy days, I log on and see what amazing thing my mfp friends did that day in terms of exercise and calories burned, and it totally motivates me!
Good luck!0 -

^^^^ start with one small thing a week, then add. Find foods you love then try to keep your days similar, not exact because u will get bored....and YOU CAN DO IT!0 -
The first thing, and the only thing that will make or break you, is WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS? Find your WHY, post it everywhere, log it here on your page. Make sure it is what YOU want and not what anyone else wants for you.
Second, you can exercise all you want, but if your calories are not in line, you won't lose a thing. So put your data in, and just start on the diet/nutrition part. Maybe start with 1/2 pound a week and log everything and you may be amazed at what the foods you have been eating really count out as!
Third, once you get the why and the level, add the exercise. What is fun for you? What's easy and affordable for you? How much time do you have to spend? How can you start moving more today than yesterday? Tennis shoes on and door open you are set for a nice walk. Stretch the distance, the time, the speed from week to week and before you know it you are exercising!!
Bottom line, no one can really set up a program for you. We can encourage you, give you ideas, and cheer you on as you succeed. Good luck!0 -

This. And surround yourself with great mfpals because they are what will keep you motivated if you feel like you're starting to slip0
