Good morning!
I don't know what to do with myself today. I'm used to Wednesday mornings being taken up with horse riding. I should go for a walk. I need to clean, get push ups done, and figure out meals over the next week. We are leaving Friday to go to South Texas for almost a week. DH has a business trip in San Antonio and Houston. He told me this morning that "we" (meaning me) need to figure out meals so we won't have to spend money on eating out all the time. :grumble:
So today seems a little weird to me. I'm sure I will fill it in with something. And hopefully it won't be food.
I'd better get busy. You all have a great day!

It's so hard to pack food for traveling. Best of luck with that. If you are staying at the type of hotel with a kitchen, it's much easier.
It's funny, you said "south Texas," so I thought: the border. But then I realized that I say "North Texas" and think anywhere from DFW to Lubbock.
Yesterday: yoga and walking. Today: more of the same. I considered going to weights this morning, but I think my body is exhausted from all this yoga - my muscles feel tired, I don't. My next day off, from yoga, is Friday. I also have bruising all up and down my arms from doing flying crow. Anytime my foot falls out (often), it feels like a rug burn. I didn't think anything of it, until I saw it in the mirror.
WL - how long are you going for? First Sea Sheppard, then Bison people, what's next Earth First? You could camp out in the tree houses with them. At least they would have fresh veggies!
Be happy Boogaloo!0 -
Hi pebbles,
Today is restorative yoga.
Had a fairly successful date night meal. Actually got full before the plates were empty. Miraculous!
Take care.:flowerforyou:0 -
I am in the same boat, MM, trying to figure out food while traveling. I am going on a business trip next week, but it is going to be a mess because I'll be working night shifts (like 8PM-8AM) while I'm there, and the hotel doesn't have a restaurant or kitchens in the room. The serve breakfast but I'm not going to want to eat right after I get off shift and before I go to sleep. It sounds like they can get me a mini-fridge in the room, so I will be trying to stock that up with stuff. But then, when I'm working, the cafeteria on site is closed, so I'll have to arrange my own snacks/midnight 'lunch'. Oh, and I won't have my own car while I'm there, so I'll be dependent on other people to get out for dinner or provisions. Ugh! At least there's a little gym at the hotel.
I am doing well with getting my exercise in - it's just the rest of my life that is falling apart! I may try to get to the gym for elliptical again tonight so I can get my 4 days of cardio in this week, since I am traveling on Sunday. Or else do yoga tonight and cardio on Saturday.
Other goal - not to eat too much of the kick-*kitten* granola that I made last night. Yuuuuummmmmy.0 -
Oh my goodness! I just got some news that made my whole day! I told you all that Alex would no longer be receiving horse therapy because the funding ran out. I've been praying and praying about it because Alex loves it and I know it's helping him. Today he's been dragging his rocking horse all over the house, and he's been riding it and "feeding" it, brushing it, etc. So I knew that he knew we were suppose to go today, even though I never said anything and he never said anything.
Well, Suzanne, the therapist from the therapy center called with some bad news that turned good. The riding instructor's mom just died. He asked that instead of sending flowers that people would send money to Rocky Top Therapy. He requested that all the money that comes in goes to Alex!!! He has only seen Alex maybe twice. He has only watched him ride the first time! No one can deny that this is the Lord's hand in this! The money could have gone to several other kids, or even just to run the place! Suzanne said they have already received over a thousand dollars! And they think there might be more! I'm SOO super excited for Alex! Praise the Lord! He will start riding again in two weeks (we'll be gone next week)!
I just had to share! I am so thankful!

That is SO wonderful!!!! You put your faith that it would work out, and it did, probably more than you could ever imagine! What great news...0 -
Late check-in today...I've been running around like crazy getting ready for the trip to Montana.
It's a short shoot, only two weeks (thank goodness!) but I'm needing to pack for anything since we may be skiiing in to the rendez-vous points...or hiking...or snowshoeing. I'm excited to be hanging out in the incredible places around Yellowstone and getting to do it for work! And NO BOATS so it's all good!
Today:
~ Did legs at the gym, then 30 minutes of elliptical. I'm going to work on my taxes then do a 30 minute walk later on.
~ Drink more water
~ Take vitamins
~ Go to bed on time
3rd DATE BOOGALOO TOMORROW...whoooo hoooooo!0 -
MM, I am so happy for you and Alex. That's so cute (and sad) that he was playing with his rocking horse today - and so wonderful that he'll get to go back.
WL, that sounds great. I was just thinking recently that I would like to get out to Montana and the Dakotas... I haven't been up there since I was a kid and we went to Yellowstone and the Badlands. Have fun on your date!0
