I have always thought I was 5'8" but I just went to the doctor and they said 5'7". So I measured myself at home and also got 5'7". Is it normal as you get older to shrink? I mean I guess it is but I am only 45 and this seems surprising.

Also kind of a bummer because at 5'8" i had successfully moved well into the "overweight" category from "obese" but now I am back on the boundary. I know the BMI chart is only a guide and not the be-all and end-all etc. but still ... argh.

Time of day can alter it, I'm told.

Maybe you have Osteoprosis??(sp?)...osteoprosis runs in my mothers side of the family, my sister lost several inches before she was even 40 and I have lost an inch and my mother also several inches.
