Dieting and exercise on vacation

Spring break is coming up and we are planning to take a trip. I am totally freaking out because I usually put on weight on vacations. How can I avoid gaining weight and hopefully contain to loose while away from home? Of course we will be eating out and going to amusement parks etc. Any tips on exercises I can do in a hotel? I am sure that we'll stay in a hotel with a gym but I am not sure that they will have weights. Also any ideas on what I can bring from home to eat or snack on? I plan to measure out my protein drinks and bring those as well as some almonds. I am just so worried!
