Chest congestion after running?

Hey everyone!! So I've recently been getting into running lately. However, I've noticed that after I'm done, my chest feels tight, congested and I feel wheezy and raspy. I did a google search (which is awful, I know lol) and after reading a bunch of pages and people posting about similar "symptoms", most people said they experience these while running in the cold or because they have exercise induced asthma. I know it's not from running in the cold, because I live in FL and I'm running on the treadmill, but I've never even though about exercising induced asthma. I've never experienced these while working out on the elliptical or anything, just running (which I read online is usually the biggest trigger because it's more intense). Does anyone know anything about this, or has anyone experienced the same things? Maybe it's just because I'm not breathing correctly while running, which I think I do correctly...in through nose, out of mouth.

Sorry for the long post! Just curious if anyone has experienced any of this?

I have exercise induced bronchitis (exercise induced asthma) and it sounds alot like what you are experiencing. Please see a doctor. Asthma needs to be properly controlled.

That said, I was on an inhaler for years, and needed it to run or swim or exercise vigorously. I stopped exercising for a few years due to having kids, and started running again a year ago. I started with C25K and took it slow. I don't know if it was the starting off slowly, but I was able to build my lungs up to the point that I don't need to use my inhaler every time I exercise.... just about twice a week now instead of almost daily.

Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor! I played sports as a kid, but I never remember this happening! I was thinking it might be because I'm just starting out and my lungs haven't worked like that, but I don't know...thanks again!
