Thanks Pfauxmeh! I started building a playlist from our favorite band -- TOOL. If you like rock music, then you'll love this song. If you hate rock music, at least pay attention to the lyrics. I knew there was a reason I've always loved this song....and even though it has nothing to do with working out, it could have connotations to working out.... in a way.....

Just plug in your iPod, crank it on high, and get on the treadmill already!

"Parabola" from Tool (from the album, "Lateralus") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3R4zkblHZk

We barely remember who or what came
before this precious moment,
We are choosing to be here right now.
Hold on, stay inside
This holy reality, this holy experience.
Choosing to be here in

This body. This body holding me.
It's my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, we are eternal
All this pain is an illusion.

Alive!

In this holy reality, in this holy
experience. Choosing to be here in....

This body. This body holding me.
It's my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, we are eternal,
All this pain is an illusion.

Twirling round with this familiar parabole.
Spinning, weaving round each new experience.
Recognize this as a holy gift and
celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing,
this chance to be alive and breathing.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal.
all this pain is an illusion.

That is -- quite literally -- my favorite Tool song. And how bizarre...I was JUST going to post the lyrics of the chorus as my MFP status today!

    :D Best. TOPIC. Ever.

    Anything Tool is amazing.

But if you're not so much into rock, then Bass Down Low- Dev is a good workout song, too

Either Black Eyed Peas' "I Got a Feeling" or John Cage's "4:33," depending on how I feel at the time.

Full disclosure, I am not a Tool fan., But objectively, Parabola is actually too slow for me.

I see what you mean about lyrical content.

The slowest track on my playlist is probably Red - "Already Over" or TFK - "Bounce" which I use as warm up songs when I do listen to music running.

If I had to pick a Best. Ever. it would be a tossup between TFK - "Phenomenon" and Pillar - "Frontline"

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans (Moonlight Matters remix) has been on replay since I discovered it lol I love bassy, higher tempo stuff when I'm working out. As for Tool, my fave is The Pot

Tools cool. But, when I work out I'm more Pantera, Slayer, or Exodus. I just want to get into a frame of mind where I want to tear people's heads off. It helps me focus on being baddass. :)
