Still no running for me. I am praying my knee gets better ASAP! :frown: I'm really bummed about it. I have been icing it, taking Aleve, using a compression wrap, elevating it....still no improvement yet.
And so my coworker gave me a speech yesterday about how I may need to give up running and start walking....that it's hard on the joints. BLAH!
I've been running since 2004 and do strength training 4 days a week...one knee injury scare is not going to keep me from running.0 -

There are always those runner haters out there that go on and on about the how hard it is on your knees. My knees usually get worse when I just sit around and do nothing. I'm not sure how old you are but I started the chrondrotin/glucosamine a couple of years ago and saw some improvement. If your knee problem is arthritis give it a shot. Also - my knees usually let me know when I need new shoes before any other part of my body.
I'm still not running just gazing out the window as the runners go by :sad: XRays next monday and then 1 more week to post-op appointment with surgeon. Neck is feeling good so I'm sure I'll be training for my next race in no time.0 -

don't listen to the runner haters! I had bad plantar fasciatis last year and went to the foot and ankle specialist and finally got some orthotics. He warned me that my knees and hips might hurt as they adjusted to proper alignment but that would go away and it did.
running can't be all that bad when every doctor I have talked to recommends it, besides if I end up with a titanium knee or hip maybe my pace will improve :laugh: :laugh:0 -
Had a knee scare 2 yrs ago after baby #2 - chondromalacia, week quads, different shoes, etc. Anyway, I had the same type people preaching about running being bad- blah blah blah-- I jusst had baby #3 in Dec. and I'm already up to 5 miles with no knee problems because i corrected and use preventative methods. All that said--- got 5 miles in today in 45:41. Good luck everyone!0

Hi everyone! I got 8 miles in today. It was rough on me... for some reason wasn't feeling motivated. Hopefully tomorrow is better!0

3.3 miles today at one minute faster than Monday!
3rd day in a row of running, but keeping distances shorter this week, mostly 2-3.3. with 5 days vs. 3 days of running.
I hope those of you recovering from injuries continue to do so quickly!:flowerforyou:
You'll be posting times and distances which shame me in no time!!!!

I did the 2.4 mile loop around the lake today...in the rain! One day I'll be able to hang with the rest of y'all!0
