Lifting Heavy at Home

Hi everyone, so I'm not at the gym anymore due to financial reasons and looking after my son so I'm mainly at home. My aim is to tone up everything for the summer, I'm 5ft2 and down to 119.5lbs just 5lbs off my previous weight was before I had my son. I carry all of my weight on the lower half of my body, none on top grrr so I'm very out of proportion. Everyone said to tone I need to lift heavy but I only have dumbells that go up to 5kg, what else can I do? I really want to be in a bikini for summer and yes I'm down to a reasonable weight but it is all very much wobbly and unattractive and at 23 I want to have confidence on the beach! Anyone have any advice? Really didn't want to put these pics up makes me feel so unattractive...
Pleaseee help me!

I seem to remember a post in the last few days about the same thing and the suggestion was body weight exercise where you use your own body weight perhaps if you do a search for that? Sorry I can't be of more help. I was fortunate enough to come across a great deal on CL for a home gym. If you have even a small budget may you could look at that? I have a pretty nice setup for less than $2000

I don't know what hemisphere you're in but if you expect to have a beach body by summer in the Northern hemisphere, you may wan to reconsider your goals and shoot for something a little more realistic.
You're problem is not unique. You just need to burn body fat and they way to do that is to eat your BMR in calories daily. That way all of your activity will go toward burning fat, you'll have plenty of calories to ensure good nutrition, and you won't need to track your energy output.
For exercise, that's really up to you. You need realistic and achievable goals and "toning" (a meaningless word) isn't going to work. Here is what you can do to sculpt your body.
1. Add fat
2. Lose fat
3. Add muscle
4. Lose muscle
That's all you can do. There is no "tone" in the list. It derives from the word "tonus" which is the tension in a muscle at rest. However, tonus changes with age and cannot be improved with exercise. Hence, "tone" is an ambiguous misnomer and bastardization not unlike the word "cardio". The word has no good definition should be avoided because it means different things to different people and that can only create ambiguities.
Once you get your goals in order, map out a plan to achieve them. Build it around muscle and anaerobic exercise and keep make your aerobic exercise whatever you enjoy doing...fun activities like dancing, hiking, playing a sport, cleaning house in double time, etc.
You don't need a gym to train. All you need for building muscle is resistance. You can provide that yourself simply by working one arm against the other...one legs against the other. Or lifting household items such as 5 gallon water bottles which a 40 pounds each. There are many ways to work out if you're creative. Also, Google "body weight exercises". You'll find some good websites for them. If you're into short and intense workouts, check out Zuzanna and Freddie's BodyRock.tv . If you have questions, feel free to message me.
Where there's a will, there's a way.
Good luck and good health!!
