Hate it with a vengeance. Even the smell of it turns my stomach.

So does anyone have any good ideas for high protein snacks that do not include it.

And that don't include cottage cheese either, as I hate that too!

Thanks:happy:

Eggs, yes, cheese sticks, yes, Greek yoghurt also yes lol.

Not tried almond butter. What do you do with it? Just use it like normal butter?

I found a recipe for that yesterday. I can't wait to try it tomorrow. I recently tried the blondies recipe on MFP tht called for a can of chickpeas. That was good too. My family had no idea what was in it.

The almond butter would be used like a peanut butter. It just has a different taste. I have one that is almond butter with vanilla and cinnamon. I like it, but I like peanut-butter too so I'm not sure if you would enjoy it.

Greek yogurt can replace sour cream to make higher protein dips.

I like to do a little bleu cheese dip with carrots, almonds and sliced turkey as a high protein after workout snack.

grilled chicken = high protein snack that doesn't include peanut butter.

I roll Paleo so I don't do much PB. I do keep 4oz portions of chicken, tuna and almonds around though.

Do you like nuts at all? Cashews and Almonds are great snacks. Or, fruit and cheese is always good. I prefer colby jack.

biltong (South African) or jerky (American) both dried meat and high in protein.

I've been trying to convince myself that I hate PB, but I just can't do it. It's my biggest weakness.

Thanks, few new ideas here, tending to go down the cold chicken, turkey, beef route at the moment so it will be nice to mix it up a bit.

Been looking at protein bars too. Tried one today for the first time and was surprised how full it got me.

Don't mind almonds, but I do eat walnuts and Brazil's. The fat content makes me keep the portions down though. Yes, I know they're good fats before anyone starts, but they're very calorie dense too

Peanut butter isn't really a great source of protein anyhow....better source of fat than anything else.

I am disturbed by the fact that there are people out there who don't like peanut butter. It makes me very, very sad.

That being said, as has already been pointed out, it's not that great of a protein source anyway. Lean meats, beans, certain dairy products (I'm allergic to milk but I know that Greek yogurt has quite a bit of protein), and other foods like that are high in protein.

There are also always protein powders, although of course it's great when you can get adequate protein from "real" foods.

I got the 100% natural sample pack to start off with. They're all good, really.

    My personal favorites:
#1. Lemon Cream Pie - it tastes like a cookie!
#2. Coconut Cashew - I love anything coconut

    My least favorites:
    Cinnamon Bun
    Strawberry Cheesecake

I just ordered a whole box of lemon cream pie.
  • The Quest bars are friggin' delicious, especially if you warm them up a little. Some people put them in the microwave for 15 secs. Me, I just put them in my pocket for a little bit. The Vanilla and Brownie ones are my favs. They're from the original line and have Splenda in them. I can't try the new line of flavors since they replaced the Splenda with Stevia and I'm allergic to Stevia... I'm entirely jealous of the people eating the new Quest bars...

Another good protein hit is greek yogurt (I use Fage brand) mixed half and half with sugarfree vanilla pudding. It's awesome cheesecakey protein!

Can't get the sample packs in the uk, but have found one online store that does them singly as well asin packs. Looks like I'll have to order one of everything (not the pb ones of course though lol)

I *like* peanut butter but wish my tummy would like it equally. I get bad cramps after eating just a tbsp. A few times a year, though, I suffer for the cause and spread some on crispy waffles.

This! I have such a sweet tooth, that when I want candy I have a small apple and dip slices in low fat PB. Awesome.

I will eat PB about twice a year. Some in a bowl with syrup and I am good for a few months. Never been a big fan of it.
