it is hard to enter ab workouts, you can add your own in the "add exercise" link and put what you think you burned make your own label for it...like "abdominal- 20 reps" I think there is "crunches" and then a "weight lifted" and "reps" If not using any extra weight I just put in 10lbs because I figure my upper body weighs at least that. But I almost always use a 14lb muscle ball at the gym so I add that weight in.

I do front and side planks and just put "planks"....set: 1 weight: 1 , etc....More of a place holder really. I like that you can add your own exercises too. Welcome to MFP btw.....pretty cool sight that can transform your OCD-like tendencies into productive, positive results. :)

under the strength training part of the exercising log there are things for crunches and situps, etc. MFP does not calculate calories burned due to anything you log under the strength training part. If you want credit for the calories burned, there is a strength training subject in the cardio exercise database but I have no idea how accurate that input is.

My weight lifting is done after I've already done a cardio warm up, and with my heart rate monitor on. It's debatable how accurate a HRM is for calories burned in weight training, but I normally log about 75% of what my HRM says for that part of my workout.
