I was just wondering how many calories you burn for anger/rage!
I live in an RV park. Just about everyone here has a dog and they are allowed to run in the park without a leash. This guy comes in that hasn't been here since last summer. My dog was excitedly barking at him and he didn't like it so he threw small rocks at her ( he says at her feet ) to shoo her away so she bares her teeth at him, I would too if I thought you were throwing rocks at me. I come out when he was throwing rocks (gravel from the drive) at her and asked calmly I thought why are you throwing rocks at my dog. He said cause she was barking at me and growling and she bared her teeth at me. I asked "did she bite you?" and he said "she wants to bite me". He was pissed and calling her vicious. And now I'm pissed which caused a sugar drop for me. So hence the question how many cals do you burn for anger/ rage at stupid people?
I feel better now thanks for reading my rant.

I'm happy for you, you didnt result to cigs to releive your emotional issues you talked about.

Also you have alot more strength than me I would lodge a bullet between that man's eyes.0 -
Some people are absolutely stupid. Your dog was doing what any good dog should, being alert of people it doesn't recognize. I'd give my dogs a treat!0

I don't know about calories burned via anger, but throwing rocks at an idiot has got to net you a pretty good burn.0

OMG... if someoen threw a rock and my dog (even a little gravelly one), there might have been some sort of assault charge afterwards.... I dont know what gives people the right to think they can abuse animals like that...
Ok.. now my blood pressure is up, lol. You did really well, I probably would have lost it!0 -
Thanks I knew I could trust MFPer's to give me a happy boost!!!!0

Although I can see why you're mad about this (I'm a big doggy person myself and would have been raging if someone had thrown something at my dog), it is also one of these things that if you let a dog run around on its own, you can't really plan how it is going to behave due to the behaviour of other people.
My mum dog trained to competition level for years and she never used to let our dogs off the lead unless they were in an empty park where we could watch them and call them back if someone else came in because she said you just can't plan for other people. If a kid comes in and runs at the dog and gives it a fright, or if another dog startles it, or if some person starts throwing rocks at it! lol.
I don't know how the law stands in the States but here in the UK if a dog bites, regardless of the circumstances, and the person it bites takes it further then it generally results in the dog being put down and I'd hate for something like that to happen to yours.0 -
If I burn calories when angry I'm pretty sure I'm burning tons daily. Doesn't take much to get me ready to punch someone.
How ignorant of that guy to act like the dog started the whole thing. The dog is contained, he's not. You don't throw rocks at a dog for any reason, especially "well it looks like it wants to bite me". Well no *kitten*, Sherlock. You're making the dog mad by provoking it and hurting it. That would be like if I blamed my cats for growling or scratching me because I instigated it and then turned around and did it more because they reacted appropriately.
That being said I'm not sure you can burn calories on emotion unless you were physically manifesting it like hitting the walls when angry or wracking your body with sobs when sad, that stuff works out your muscles if you do it long enough.0 -
The law is probably the same here. So yes she will be back on the leash for the remainder of the summer.0

Shame the guy throwing rocks at her can't be put on one, too. He probably needs it more than she does.0
