What's your thought on the treadmill? I heard that if you walk 60 seconds and then run 60 seconds, it burns more fat. Any truth to this? I've been walking at 4 mph then running at 6.4 for about 15-20 minutes. Amounts to about 1 1/2 miles.

What you're describing is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), which a lot of studies have show to be more effective for fat loss.

Ummm, interval training? Yes. But HIIT? This doesn't sound that 'High Intensity'

high intensity is relative. for a trained person maybe not but for someone newer to running/exercising it very well could be.

Hmmm....interesting. I am very new to running. I don't like to run. I just started doing this the other day cuz I wasn't able to take a class and needed some cardio. I get bored easily so I wanted to mix it up for the best workout. I'm not sure how to log it since I don't wear a HRM so I just put it in as the ergometer, treadmill option in the exercise database. I hope this is doing me some good since I'm only doing 15-20 minutes but it kicks my butt. Lol
