Heavy bag boxing/cardio

How is this for a fat burning workout? My gym is having a class tomorrow and the description it gives is " Box with Bags: Start with a warm up of shadow boxing and then get into some hard hitting combos on heavy bags. No previous boxing experience required. Gloves are provided for new participants"
I have never boxed before in my life so I'm curious if this is a decent workout if I am trying to lose weight quickly. Normally I go to Zumba but the class is cancelled tomorrow so I was looking for another class. Would I be better off just going for a run or do you think I would burn more calories and fat at this boxing class?
Thanks!

I have a heavy bag hanging up in my shed. After 30 minutes of full-power kicks and punches, I normally have burned at least 350 calories. Plus it's excellent stress relief! Give it a go and see if you like it!0
