Carrying Water

There are some days when I walk/jog around town where I live. It's not far, maybe a mile or so. I'm in Miami, FL where it's burning up hot here expecially w/the summer coming up. For those of you that walk outside, do you carry water with you? How and/or where do you carry it? I feel so dehydrated I have to constantly drink. I don't want to get too far out and not have water around, then I start getting a headache. Carrying my phone might also be a good idea too in case of emergencies. Last time I went walking, my 7yo daughter rode her bike next to me and she carried water in a bag for me. I'm just looking for better and/or other suggestions.

first of all the night before i fill up my water bottle half way and put it in the freezer
then before i head out the door i fill the rest up with cold water
i usually just hold it by the handle and switch hands often
you could also switch arms and pump it while you walk
i never go out without my water!!!
hope this helps :drinker:0 -
get a "camelback". you can get them from MEC (mountain equipment co-op) online. they have cheap stuff that lasts FOREVER. its just a tiny backpack that has water stored in pouch that you can drink from as you run. and im pretty sure most of them have room for a little extra eg phone, granola bar.0

Ah yes! I forgot about the camelbacks, I was under the impression those were expensive. I just bought a Polar F4 and really didn't want to spend more money :ohwell:0

I live on a country road so when I go out about 1/4 way down the road I drop it next to a bush. So when I am on my way home after the hill I need to climb to get back home. It is there waiting for me. Alot of the time I don't need it but like you it gets mighty hot here. So its nice not to have to try to carry it with me. But still have water if needed:drinker:0

My vote is for the camelback. I use mine for both running and biking and I love it!0

Are there any recommended ones that are hopefully under $20 :frown:0
