Okay....I wore my HRM all day yesterday. I burned 4238 calories. exercise included running 30 minutes and hiking/walking 75 minutes. Pretty typical day for a weekend. Week days I might get 400 less exercise calories--ill have to wear it for a work day just to check.
anyway.....that sounds like alot of calories. I try to stick to eating 1400 calories/day. Doing simple calories in/calories out it would appear like im losing weight fast...but thats not the case. Ive been stalled for months. I wasnt concerned as i've lost 70lbs since Jan of 2011. Now that I have the facts from this HRM....I'm considering this a case that I need more calories. Anyone have any thoughts/opinions on this?

HRM generally are not meant for all day wear. I've not found that statement in my paperwork but a lot of people here will tell you it's a fact.

Secondly - my heart rate monitor displays my calories burned at about 3x the actual truth. I take the average HR and the length of time and put those figures into an online calculator that takes my gender, weight, age, and VO2 rate into consideration. That's the number I use.
