Does my goal weight seem too low?

I want to lose about 30 more pounds. Anytime I tell someone this, they always seemed shocked I'd want to lose that much and tell me I'd be too skinny.

Is a goal of 115 too low for a 5 foot frame? I didn't think so since in my late teens and early twenties (when I was in the best shape of my life) I weighed between 112 and 118. But maybe I'm wrong?

I don't think so. I'm 5' 2" and my goal weight is 120. It depends how you feel when you get there. If you're not comfortable, bump it up a notch. It's personal preference IMO.

It all depends on the person and how you carry your weight and your frame. I am 5'4 and small framed and don't look too skinny at 115. That's my goal and I'm a couple pounds away from it. I have a friend with a larger bone structure who looks thinner than me but weighs 20 pounds more at the same height. It's hard to say because it varies so much, but that does not seem unreasonable at all.

Maybe, maybe not. Keep in mind that you are supposed to weigh more now than you did as a teenager. You don't stop growing until your mid twenties, and even then, bone density should continue to increase, causing you to be heavier.

So, my opinion, just picking what you weighed as a teenager for a goal is a bad idea. I currently weigh 30 pounds more than I weighed when I was 18, yet I'm wearing smaller clothes now, compared to what I wore then.

I'm 4'11.5" and your goal weight sounds completely reasonable to me depending on your body frame. I think taller people just get shocked by our goal weights. Especially if they are unhealthy themselves.

    I personally don't think so.

I'm 5'1/2" and I'm shooting for between 110 and 115. From what I've been reading, the ideal weight for that height is roughly between 98 and 130.

Your BMI would be about 22.5 at that point
Your ideal weight range according to the calculator is 94.7 - 128.0 lbs depending on your body frame

See how you feel when you get close is the best advice I think

Thanks, everyone! I do have a small frame, so I didn't think it would be too unreasonable. I also wonder too if people don't realize how much I really do weigh. My weight is distributed pretty evenly and I am decently proportioned.

I think it sounds fine. I'm 5'6 and my goal weight is 135 and puts me at mid range healthy according to BMI.

If you have more muscle, you weigh more, but look smaller. Have your body fat measured, and adjust from there. My current lean body mass is actually 4 pounds higher than my total body weight when I was 18. So if I dropped my body fat to 0%, I'd still be heavier now than I was then, but I'm much healthier and in much better shape now.
