Any ideas for what to send to both mil's?? They have everything so something consumable is best. Obviously flowers would work.

Any other ideas?? Post soon so I can order something!
Thank you!

If you have children think about making a scrapbook for her.
Start off w/ pics of her child
    him growing up
you guys meeting and the marriage
kids being born and so on.
I did this once and she was so touched that it brought tears.
    Good luck!

I'm making some yummy low fat muffins and putting it in a basket with a cute mug and some flavored teas. I also bought a flowered blank card and wrote my own Mother's Day greeting. I think anything homemade is special.

I agree that personal is best...tailor it to her individual likes/interests

I put a stamp on a card, she'll be lucky if I actually mail it to her, the hag.

That is seriously sweet....:blushing: , my brood better do something nice...no flowers, no chocolate, but something with real meaning, like cleaning the toilets, or changing the kitty litter without having to be asked, maybe even run me a bath and NOT come knocking on the door.....A mother can dream!

If you have children, you can have them put there painted hand prints all over a plain colored shirt and then paint their names under their handprints. Or what about sending a edible arrangment (these are so neat that they use different fruits for the arrangment. Here is the web address in case you would like to look

A spin off of the hand print idea, my kids started this a long time ago. We have a wall of fame, it's a piece of cloth, muslin, the size of the wall in our rec room, each child has "printed" their hand in paint and put it on the cloth, sign their name on the bottom of the palm with the year and on the inside with one word that immediately comes to their mind when they think of me or hubby, we do it for fathers day as well...just an idea, it would work on a big piece of paper that you frame and each year they add to it, a really cool keepsake and something that lets you see how big the kids have grown. We have sooo many kids, we need the whole bloody wall!

I did sweatshirts like this with my son, he was maybe 3 or so. We gave them to both Grandmas, one great Grandma, and made one for me. He's 15 now, and I have 3 of the sweatshirts (two of the ladies have passed). I still love wearing them around... and pointing out to people how much he's grown. He just wishes they'd fall apart already!

Edit* Another variation is with foot prints on the back of the shirt as well... I guess footprints would work on the front too...

thank you for the good ideas.
for one who likes to be out in her courtyard/garden a lot (and now even more w/her new kitty cat), i ordered a garden fairy with buttlerflies that light at night (solar powered). the girls gave it a thumbs up!

now i need to see about the other--i like the handmade idea--so will think on that. the other option is food, but will need to be ordered online as we don't live near one another.

fortunately for me, i love both my mil's so i don't dread getting/finding gifts for them.

(as for my own mother...well that's a whole other ball of wax)

    thanks again!
