Just curious what your top THREE favorite core/ ab exercises are. (I'm looking to add to my list for more variety)

My 3 are:

1. Russian twists w/a kettlebell
2. Hanging knee lifts, with a twist
3. Thai Crucifix (3 second knee-to-elbow touch, each side)

Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) on the ocean/lagoon
    SUP on the lagoon/ocean
SUP on a lake (ok, I've never been SUPing on a lake, but I know it would be my 3rd fave).

EDIT TO ADD: Saw this SUP poster the other day; an ad for Quickblade paddles: shot of a girl paddleboarding; camera is half below, half above very clear blue - Gulf-of-Mexico type water, looking up at her from below. Caption reads: You know that grossed-out feeling you get when you go to use a piece of equipment at the gym and it's covered with someone else's sweat? I don't.

    Ha - awesome

But do your russian twists on an exercise ball? Adds to the difficulty, and throws in come other muscle groups as well! My FAVORITE!!!

My next 2 are the thai crucifix and planks, both side and standard.

Did you mean on a "Bosu Ball" or the regular exercise ball?

Regular exercise ball. shoulders on the ball, feet flat on the ground, knees bent at 90* angle. I do it with a 15lb kettlebell. AWESOME workout. You'll feel it in your butt, thighs, hips, and core.

ETA - Not the best pic... he should only be twisting at the waist, too much leg movement in this pic, but ya get the general idea.

    Handstand pushup attempts
V-ups on a bench, with and without a twist
I feel like I should say plank but they bore the hell out of me, so how about the plank variation where you go from forearms to hands and back

    planks (hurts so good)
straight-legged jacknife on a Swiss ball (these slay me)
deadlifts (falling in love with these)

That being said, I haven't tried a ton of the ones listed in this thread and will check them out.

There are my favorites too. Swiss ball jackknifes are evil. Also like weighted Swiss ball crunches.

Will certainly give this a try once California slips off into the ocean, and gives us folks from AZ some oceanfront views.

Agreed. I did a deload last week and dropped my squat and deads by 60%. I then did some hanging leg raises; I normally throw them in at the end of my workout because they make me feel ba. They were so much easier to do since I hadn't worked my abs nearly as much as I normally do.
