Hi. I have been doing TRX in my gym with an instructor for 5 months now and I really love it. I do it once a week on Sundays and each time it is different. We go through a circuit using 2 TRX belts, we also have 3 ropes of different weights including the "anaconda", then the rest is lower body and core. Or whatever needs to be done. Presently we are doing 45sec each exercise with 15sec to rest before you do the next one and we go through 9-11 stations in all in 1 hour. I am happy you are liking it and in no time you will be stronger and leaner.
  • Oh wow you mean there are people on here who actually know what this is??? I couldn't even find TRX in the database! We have a massive TRX setup at the gym and my PT has me on it for 40 mins to an hour each time, doing everything from overhead push ups (what the hell are those called?) to push ups with my feet in the stirrups. It kills me but he says this is way better than the machines. I'm just getting to the stage where i can lift my knees to my elbows 10 times while doing the push ups.

Can't wait to see what results from this thread :)

I was introduced to the TRX over 5 years ago while doing a boot camp. Ended up buying my own set and creating my own TRX/ Kettlebell routines. Can't say that I had any "favorite" moves, so to speak, but I enjoyed the workouts. Our instructor would work us for 60 min per day, 5 days per week, for a month without doing the same workout twice. I love how versatile it is. Put a kettlebell into the mix, and you can go forever without having a duplicate workout.

Does anyone do TRX at home? If so, what do you think. I will be finished my current workout schedule in a month or so and I am looking for my next. I am doing Chalean extreme now and love the strength training. This looks like it includes that and more. Any input is helpful. Thanks.

I have a new gym program and it includes working on my core strengths/balance and a lean torso.
My routine includes a few exercises on the TRX for my abs and gluteus …..and boy do I know its working from the ache I have the following day! I’ve been promised abs of steal, so I’m sticking with it! Like you, i'm new to TRX

    Lower abs pull in.
Feet suspended from the handle, hands in press up position on the floor. Bring knees to Chest.
    Rotational abs pull in
Also work on the oblique’s bringing knees to elbows.

I’m think i'm the only ones in the gym who knows what it is, let alone using it!
Think I’m going love it too!

I did a 9 week TRX training program at my gym last winter and loved it .

Loved it so much that we bought one for our home gym. It came with a dvd workout.

Unfortunately I haven't used it much lately I've been doing JM Ripped in 30 and running.

I go to a TRX class once a week for 45 minutes, LOVE it!! would be hard to describe the torture i mean exercises she puts us through! lol but I can try if you want, is there any specific muscle group you're working on?
  • I told my trainer the areas i want to work on are butt and thighs so while we work all the muscle groups, those are the main areas he's helping me make improvements on.

Thanks guys, have been working the TRX a few times a week but think I will go to 3 days as there is SOOO much to do with one! Like you have all said, each workout can be so deferent. I have incorporated the kettlebells with it as well and I can really feel how deep in the muscle it works!! Thanks for your input!!!!!

I mentioned it to my PT one day so our next time, she broke them out. I loved it. She said that scared her a bit.

It was the one exercise where I really felt it the next day. It hurt to cough or laugh. Or breathe.

I do love the trx work I do. Split squats using it are killer, as are the tricep work. My favorite though is curtsy lunges using it to stabilize.

That is the move that I fell in love with the first day it's a sort of jump to the side to a curtsy lunge and jump out far to other side into a curtsy...such great deep work!!!!
  • Yay just had a 60 min personal training session on TRX and can finally do 10 continuous knee pull ins (fancy term for this?) with feet in stirrups, 10 on left leg, 10 on right, 10 with one knee kept in and the other pulling in/ out wooo, all the things i found really hard before. So now we've added a move where you pull your hips up with feet in stirrups still, and look at your toes haha. I could only do about 6 of those. And also one where you swing your hips from side to side so your whole legs are swinging. Hard to describe, even harder to do!! Managed about 4 of those LOL!!

    I ache already!!!:love::love:

Hows everyone doing with the TRX?

I've now done 20 workouts now with my new programme that incorporates some- and i'm beginning to see the benefits.

I'm also using a Bosu and weight bag/sandbag.

Cant wait to see where i'll be in another 20 workouts!

I did a TRX intro class and I was so sore. If my gym didn't charge so much I'd totally take a class a week.

Wish our gym would offer a TRX class, that would be great! We just have one hanging off the equipment and someone showed me how to use it and now I notice more people trying it! Starting Monday I have worked out a program and will work it 3x a week...I will let you know if I can move on Friday!! Hahaha
