So, about 4 weeks ago my mom and I booked a trip to Cancun. I got so excited and told myself this would be the first time I would wear a bikini in years and went out and bought some. Fast forward to today, 4 days before we leave, and I haven't dropped a pound and have not been eating well. (I got lazy and ate bad things, didn't work out, etc...)
What I really want to know is what do you think about girls in bikinis? I know most everyone says, "Wear what makes you feel comfortable.... if you feel good, than why does it matter?" Which, I still think I am going to wear them just because I already have them, but do you judge someone in a bikini who has a tummy? Or is 15-20 lbs overweight? I have a bit of a lower stomach that definitely juts out... I just don't want people thinking I'm pregnant!!

I don't judge people, but I would choose something that flatters the figure rather than highlighting the flaws.
There are lots of guides online that show women of different sizes in different style bathing suits. It's amazing how a style can really alter the way you look. Not to say you can't wear a bikini, but there are various styles so make sure the one you choose is right for you. You want to be comfortable and have fun on your vacation - not worrying about what you're wearing.0 -
Girl...get yourself a sexy bikini...and ROCK IT!!!
Confidence in yourself is sexy...don't worry yourself about what others may think...because most of the time you'll worry over nothing. For every 20 people who says "Wow, she looks hot!!"....there might be ONE ( a hater) who thinks "Ewwww!".....and even the hater will be eyeballin you in secret!!
I wear bikinis all the time...and I have quite a few pounds to lose..but I've always been confident in myself.0 -
Wear the bikini, enjoy your trip. You do know that EVERYONE else is spending too much time worrying about how they look to worry about how you look, right? Relax, enjoy your trip, enjoy your time with your mom.0

When I was young I lived in Hawaii for a little while and got used to seeing all sorts of bodies in bikinis! Beautiful! Go for it! Just remember your sunscreen and stay in the shade or covered between 11 and 3!0

I don't get this. WHY in God's name would you care what total strangers think!? Plus, if it's vacation, YOU'LL NEVER SEE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN!
I could NEVER live my life like that. The only person I have to please 24/7 is the one I face in the mirror. Everybody else can kiss my back of my front. You think that 80 yr old fat guy in the speedo cares what you think? When I was in Daytona, I saw some pudgy seniors (women) in METALLIC BIKINIS. Would I do that? no. But I give them props for their self esteem.
DO WHAT YOU WANT. BE WHO YOU ARE. This is basic for me and my life motto. If you wait for the WORLD'S approval, you're NEVER gonna get it.0 -
Do what makes you happy. Life is too short to worry about what other people are thinking. They are probably envious anyway..... just have fun!0

I have learned alot through using this site, the most important is to not care what others think. As long as you are happy that is all that matters. I am still far from my goal weight but I just posted a picture today of me in a bikini. I think this summer I might just be confident to wear it out in public. You can rock on too, its about confidence not size!0

I live in south Florida and although I am not comfortable wearing a bikini on the beach lots of women do. Some are very large women too and they have a great time without anyone passing any judgement on them at all. I actually envy them for being so comfortable with their body's while being so large. I know I wasn't when I was that big plus size 24, and now I am much smaller size 8 I love my body but still not comfortable wearing so little clothes in public.
Go out and enjoy beautiful!!!0 -
Don't much care for bikini's, I can take it or leave it.0

Confidence is key when wearing ANY outfit!! So if u are going to wear it you need to show the world you "should" be wearing it based on your attitude!!
Have a blast!!!!!0 -

SO TRUE!!!!!
WEAR THE BIKINI! I went on my first cruise (I am 50 years old) this past September, with a friend who is thin and has been on many cruises. I drove her crazy asking if she was SURE "people my size" wore bikinis outside. She kept saying TRUST ME. I trusted her and she was right. I wore a bikini every day of that cruise and had a blast! I was actually complimented a couple of times on the suit I had on that particular day.
HAVE FUN!0 -
I am way more critical of myself than I am of anyone else. I never really go to the beach and say "wow she shouldn't be in that bikini!" I wouldn't go out in a bikini right now at my size (I barely want to go in a swimsuit at all!) but it's not like anyone is going to come up to you and say "OMG I can't believe you are wearing that bikini it looks terrible."so go out strut your stuff and celebrate the weight loss you've accomplished so far!0

To be 100% honest when I see a thin girl in a bikini I think ''B***h''
But when I see a larger lady or someone with excess fat/skin or is uncomfortable I think ''welldone you are amazing, I wish I was confident enough to do that'

BUT...
You can't discount the kick you get when a guy's head snaps around when you pass by. The acknowledgement that all your hard work shows. Positive feedback is a wonderful thing. It doesn't matter if it's from a loved one or a stranger. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. If I look fantasic in a Tankini and only so-so in a Bikini - guess which one I'm going to wear? It's not really about others - it makes ME feel good when I'm at my best.
You said "Be who you are". I say "Be the best you can be".0
