I know i have seen suggestions about Heart Rate Monitors, However i have one well i had one.
My Question is, how long did yours last? I got one, it was the Pylor with chest strap, it was wonderful but it did not last long at all.

Yes i cleaned the sensors and yes i changed the batteries, but it would stop in the middle of the workout, or the screen would stick or the settings would change back after a few days to a 16 year old and i am 42 sooo i got really mad and threw it up against the wall the other day.. I was feed up with the dang thing..lol

SO any suggestions? And can you tell me how long you had yours? And where you got it? I just want a simple one that tells me calories burned, and the time i exercised and the heart rate. I did search the forums and i seen a few yet i dotn know how long you had it and how long you liked it. I appriciate your comments thanks.

If it loses the connection during the workout, it will stop working too-have you tightened the strap? I have a brand new Polar and if I don't keep the strap tight, that will happen. I love my Polar, had my old one for probably two years..bought a Garmin and it's good-but the buttons are too small for my 43 year old eyes to see :)

yeah the straps were tight enough i had mine for 6 months is all. It started messng up about three months in and i cleaned it and replaced batteries. then it kept doing it still til yesterday i was so mad, i was into workout 25 minutes and seen it stoped at 10 mintues then i could not get it to go to any screen at all frooze up and i was really jumping higher and all thinking i was going to get a great burn.. very motivated needless to say i spent the next five minutes throwing it at the wall. It was also going back to default of 16 year old and i am 42 so that was not good.. I had readout of a low calorie burn then. So I needed new one now..

I have had the same problem. I just ordered a replacement strap - this is the second replacement strap and I''ve had the HRM for around two years. I guess they don't last that long - I thought it was just me. I did everything too - tightened the strap, changed the battery, washed it in the washer and nothing worked. The last time I got a new strap it worked again for about a year. The Polar strap is only about $15 so it's not too bad. I have wondered if I should just get a different one but I like the one I have...when it works!
