There is not sugar in creatine. I'm guessing you're referring to added sugar in whatever creatine product you've purchased. That would depend on the particular brand.
To your question of how refined sugars affect weight loss, it would be the same as any other food. If you are in a calorie deficit you will lose weight; if you are in a surplus, you will gain weight.0 -
You can buy plain old creatine monohydrate powder and add it into any drink (preferably water or juice). However, there are a ton of products out there that add sugar, for flavor, in their creatine products to make it easier to drink. As for weight loss, you'll most likely gain weight due to water retention when taking creatine, but you'll get stronger. Creatine is the most researched sports supplement on the market today.0
