Does this ever happen to you in a restaurant?

So I think there is some sort of sign on my head that says "even though I have never met you before, I am going to tell you my life story and life's dramas."
I thought I should explain this before I continue with the story.
So around every 2 months or so, when I go out to a restaurant, a random person in the table next to me will offer to share their food with me. A couple month's ago, we were waiting at the bar for our table to get ready, there was a guy alone eating dessert. I said, ooh that looks good what is it? He replies, oh bread pudding. Please have some, there is no way I can finish. I replied, oh we are about to eat dinner... the guy keeps insisting, so we humor him and take a bite. I think this is odd behavior.
Well today I went to brunch, and the people next to us start joking about stealing our food (this is normalish behavior) and they are about to start eating dessert, a slice of pie. The next thing you know, they say...hey we can't finish out pie, please help us eat it! We feigned being full and concentrating on our savory dishes, and they stopped insisting.
I've had people offer up olives, entrees, main courses, sips of wine, cocktails. It happens all the time!
So I have to ask, am I the only one this happens to? (This only happens to my friends when I am there.)

Just means that you're approachable, it's a good thing! People converse with me all the time at random. :flowerforyou:0

If you're not sure, why are you laughing?0 -
I've had that happen a little. It's weird, I think...0

I take it as a compliment. It means you are approachable and friendly a little flirting is good for the soul0

Happens to me whenever we go out for dinner with my in-laws. I end up talking to & sharing wine with the people at the tables surrounding us. It drives the in-laws crazy. It cracks my husband and I up every time.
You must give off that happy person vibe that people crave.0 -

If someone asks/comments about my food, I'll usually offer some up. Sometimes people are just curious, but sometimes they're hungry.0

cant say this has ever happened in a restaurant..a man offered me some cheetos while we were standing in line @ walmart once..seems a bit weird and creepy tho0

People definitely tell me their life's stories. Every time I sit down somewhere, someone is practically waiting to talk to me, it seems. But I only get bought drinks (coffee, booze, whatever). I think it's to keep me there listening to them. So few people really listen during a conversation, that it doesn't surprise me when people really latch on once they realize you're going to hear them out.0

Hilarious!
To reply to the OP, I was on the bus one day, and some guy was talking to me randomly, trying to keep small talk alive (which is really a lost cause, I hate small talk) and once the "What's your major?" conversation was over, I put on my music, thinking I would never see him again, so I wasn't afraid to be rude. Saw the same freaking guy the very next day on campus. I was p!ssed! Moral of the story, I hate small talk, and I hate that total strangers assume that I'll put up with their small talk.0 -
This has never happened to me, nor have I ever offered a stranger any food I was already eating! It does seem kinda weird, at least the way I picture as you describe it, but I agree with everyone else you should take it as a compliment.0

It is IRONY. If you were not on a diet you would never be offered food. It is like a guy gets a girlfriend and then all of a sudden every girl his type just happens to give him a wink and he sits there and wants to cry lol0

It's not weird, some people are just friendly like that, and really don't mind sharing. Take it as a compliment..they obviously think you're a clean enough and nice enough person to share their meal.
Of course, you can always say "No thanks..I have a cold, and wouldn't want you to catch it"
