Ripped in 30 Wk2 - Hard on Joints

Hi everyone

I lived through Ripped in 30 week 1 and lived to tell the tale. I was very excited to progress on to week 2 today...until I got half way through. I have very 'bendy' joints and its fair to say during most work outs I get popping and cracking noises (without pain). BUT week 2 was so bad I had to stop. My wrists, hips and shoulders were out of control with popping and I have to say they really started to hurt.

Has anyone else experienced more joint pressure in this workout? If so - have you found after a day or so of getting used to the moves did it get beter or is it just going to be a no-go zone for the cartilage-ly challenged. I don't want to quit the dvd cos I really enjoyed the burn of week 1...maybe I will skip to week 3 and see if it is any better for me.

Sure is. I am just about done with week 2 (may do it one more time tomorrow), but my knees took a beating last week. The plank jacks and mountain climbers are a killer. I've done the workout about 5 times and still can't complete it without stopping. I was close once, but its too much. I just decided once I reach my goal weight, I will never do another mountain climber again..lol

I'm in week 2 as well and having a very hard time with it as well on my joints. I do each "week" for two weeks because I do them 3x a week and alternate with running and walking on off day.

Yeah the moutain climbers just hurt my hips waaaaaay too much. It was scary how much noise they were making. Me thinks I might repeat week 1 using the advanced moves and go to week 3...

Thanks guys - glad its not just me!

It mainly hurts my wrists but I've heard that the next level doesn't have nearly as many plank-type moves so I'm just gonna deal with it 3 more times.

I remembered that I'm taking a supplement similar to the one discussed in this thread:

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/221929-glucosamine

Would taking something like this be an option? I used to take it a while back and found it helped me a lot. I'll be taking it regularly now to see if it improves the pain in my knee.

Hi there - yeah I have tried glucosamine. My fiance takes it and has great success with it (he is a carpenter, and puts his body through a fair bit physically at work) but for me it doesn't make too much difference. My cartilage itself is quite healthy, and after a lot of work with my osteo we have just found that my joints just are too flexible, to the point where they bend so far that they can pop out a little. So holding a plank is ok but these planks with jumping and stuff...just not going to work for me I don't think!

Flexibility is ace - hyper flexing joint...not so flash lol
