Hi,
I have been looking into body building a lot and I know there comes a point where you have to put weight on to bulk up to make the muscles bigger and then cut the fat again. when would you start this phase, like im just beginning so would i lose the weight i have now first or start to bulk first? im worried about getting fat!

The bodybuilders I train with reckon bulk first, cut after. If you bulk with good foods and healthy fats/protien you will put muscle on and not fat. If you are serious about bodybiulding then getting your diet sorted in my option is more important than the training. You need to eat alot to get big but it needs to be good foods. There are millions of bodybuilding sites on the web that will give you diets and foods to start you off.0

It's not just about eating a lot of food. Even if it is good food, if you are not working your muscles to the point where they need the calories for energy it will still be stored as fat. Muscles can only grow so fast. Your fastest growth will be in the first year of training since your muscles weren't used to that at all. Then the following years they will grow slower. When you are bulking up you should only be gaining 0.5-1lb each week. If you gain more than that you are gaining fat and increasing your body fat percentage and therefore will need to cut more when you get to the lean out phase.0

its no so much about this whole clean eating stuff...as long as you are getting plenty of nutrients, eating nutrient dense food. yes you need calories to gain muscle. i typically only eat about 200-300 calories over my "maintenance", when bulking. i dont do much cardio, but some. and it took me about 5 months to gain 10 lbs. i didnt eat very clean..but at 2000-2200 calories i ate plenty of nutrient dense foods, and had tons of calories left over as discretionary calories..so i just ate what i wanted, pizza, chocolate, etc etc. whatever.
to build muscle you have to make sure you are intaking plenty of carbs. carbs give us glucose for fuel. without enough carbs our bodies break down our muscle for glucose. protein really isnt as important as all the 'bro's" say. you dont need to intake tons of it to build muscle. yes more than the average person who doesnt body build but still, you dont need 100s of grams. protein doesnt build muscle, calories and exercise does.
now for exercise..you need to lift as heavy as you can. you need to constantly switch up the workouts. most days i do between 8-12 reps..some days i do drop sets, and occasionally i may up my rep range. i cant say i've packed on the muscle..as women its hard for us....not impossible, just harder. but i have put on muscle while keeping my body fat % about the same.0
