hey guys,

this is what my usual gym plan is;

tues- bikes, zumba

thurs- bikes, body balance (pilated, yoga and taichi)

(every other week) friday- bikes, zumba

sun- circuit training including bikes, elliptical, push ups, treadmill, plank etc

i burn between 2200 and 3200 cals a week.

but i am aching like mad between sessions. Is it cause i'm quite big (234) and not used to working out, or could the fact i'm only hitting about half my rec protein intake be doing it?

thanks,

  • I am not qualified to comment but I can give you my experience - I am heavier than you and whenever I workout I always take a banana immediately afterwards (in the changing room....) then within one hour a protein shake. I have never really ached except after my Personal Trainer sessions and if I didn't ache after that I would wonder why and probably want a refund! In the past I used to ache for days when I didn't know about protein, so maybe it has something to do with it.

    I can totally sympathize! I started around the same weight as you're at, so I'm well familiar with it. Drink water before, during and after your workout. And make sure you do a proper cool down and stretching after your workout. Stretching will help cut down on that aching in between. It makes a huge difference for me. I can always tell when I didn't stretch a muscle properly after workout 'cause that's the muscle that aches the next day.
