The thrill is...GONE!

Yesterday we had a fabulous time of family time. Out and about galavanting around town and wanted to visit a new Vegan restaurant. Well, like the old commercials used to say, "Phone First"--we didn't do that and it was closed. So we went to one of our old haunts before OUR (I say our, but it's actually mine, but my cool and wonderful family are adopting "my" new lifestyle ways of eating, so I'm saying our), anyhoo...went to this restaurant that we formally LOVED...we all sat down, looked at the menu-looked around the restaurant and--the thrill was GONE--we got up and left (this is something we previously would NEVER do), if things didn't look right (not clean as we'd like, "tudes" from staff or whatever, we still eat anyway--just for the "thrill" of eating something good). Not this time!
Then we went to another of our old haunts. A Thai Restaurant. ate and afterwards we all said almost simultaneously..."we should've eaten at home, we would have saved a lot of money (it was super expensive), and our homemade food tastes WAY better than this!!!!!
So TRUE. Now that we've been eating so well t home, preparing delicious nutritious foods, presented in elegant and excellent ways--honey, the "thrill" of eating out at expensive and mediocre restaurants is GONE! We can go out walking about town and doing other things besides "eating" for fun and a good time and yesterday was just so EYE-OPENING on how much we've spent (in time and money and my expanding waist-line) that's more "hype" and mental and again...The THRILL is gone--and I'm GLAD it is.
Wow, such revelations are coming along with this mission of health and slimhood--Thank YOU Lord for showing my family and I that LIFE indeed is far more that eating and drinking what we're going wear. Wow I'm so GLAD about that!!!!!

Yep. I ate Mexican food last night and while I was eating I was thinking about how bad it actually tasted. Nothing was wrong with it, but home prepared meals are so much better than anything you can get in a restaurant.0

You too! I thought we were the only ones taking pics of our fabulous home cooked meals. Our daughters are actually proud to have pics taken though, because they are participating big time around here and preparing many of the meals we now eat and so when we take pics, they light up like they've won an award of some kind. We actually also do a weird thing of cheering (three cheers for who ever prepared the meal), they love that too.0 -

Yep, exactly...it wasn't that the meal was "horrible" or anything, but just no where NEAR as fabulous tasting and even looking as ours at home.0 -
I feel the same way!! I used to live restaurant eating......but I cook so much tastier food at home, it is cheaper and I can make sure everything truly is vegan!!0

EXACTLY:flowerforyou: ...same for me, I used to literally LIVE for eating restaurant foods and going out to eat (be it expensive restaurants or fast food joints) and again, WOW--what a difference a change in attitude and lifestyle brings. That meal of raw Veggie Spring roll, Thai Fried rice and Pad thai, honey...my daughter and I (and even the boys) can throw down far better and cheaper than what we had for sure--NO doubt about it all ALL!0 -
