Finishing 30DS soon -- trainer or P90X next?

I'm heading into level 3 of 30 Day Shred, and what I'm most impressed with was my body's ability to adapt to something after a few days that I thought would be impossible at first. I feel motivated to try something harder, but I also want to build lean muscle mass, not just lose fat. I know I could restart the shred with heavier weights, but honestly, I think 30 days of it will be plenty for me for now. Kinda tired of the same routines (and Jillian).
So, I was considering joining a nearby gym so I could work with a personal trainer. But then my massage therapist suggested P90X. He assured me that even people just starting out with exercise can do it -- you just modify and do what you can -- and that's something I've felt comfortable doing on the 30 Day Shred. I have two times a day to choose from -- either my lunch hour or between 7-8pm in the evenings. Not much wiggle room there. If I go the gym/trainer route on my lunch hour, it will really only be a 30-min workout because I have to account for dressing/re-dressing and still getting something to eat.
Any thoughts out there on what would be the most effective use of my time and money? I've heard of people getting sick from the intensity of P90X, so that's not exactly a big selling point, but I also understand your body adapts. I will also say that I'm less interested in the eating plan that accompanies P90X -- moreso in the variety of exercises.
