Tomorrow is my daughter Jennifer's 6th birthday and I have NO CLUE what to get her (except that she has emphatically stated that she doesn't want anything to do with baby dolls, Bratz, or Barbie). I'm open to suggestions (have about $100 to spend altogether). Thanks everyone!

Do 6 year olds like roller skates, complete with helmet, elbow and knee pads?

Does she have an iPod (or mp3 player)?
    Her own DVD player?
A tv in her bedroom? (if you allow that)

    Her own digital camera?

I love photography. A digital camera could be a blast. Be sure to buy something with a rechargeable battery, or rechargeable AA batteries if that is what it takes.

Well, my 10y.o. step daughter LOVED a girly girl day... Shopping, mani-pedi, etc. Thank goodness it wasn't me taking her...

If she isn't girly girl, what about a shopping spree at toys R us?

This is a great idea! my 5 yo son loves his digital camera. Don't by the little tykes or fisher rice ones tho they weren't worth the $50.

Kids love finger paints, Side walk chalk, Stickers , Art's and crafts it's better then her watching tv or having a ipod.. she is 6 and should be exploring her creative side.... My 6 yr old loves to get messy so finger paints that wash right off is a blast... or they have a kit where you get a tad pole and watch it grow from a tad pole into a frog! you send in a piece of paper for your free frog! they also have one for butterflies that they watch it hatch and grow from a worm into a beautiful butterfly...

Great ideas everyone! I like the trampoline idea. She just said she wants skates, so that may be an option.

    Happy Birthday Jennifer's :flowerforyou:

My twin girls just turned 13 today and they got to go shopping for what ever they wanted with in a budget. They got stuff for them and even some thing for me for mother’s day:bigsmile:

I also worked at a school for a long time and kids that age were into arts and crafts. Also maybe some play make up or clear nail polish. How about some glitter sets and things like that or an art set  these are just some ideas. There were also some that liked jump rope and play with the soccer ball while other liked jacks. A portable Cd player or caste player is also fun. And then there is always a gift card and take her shopping for what ever she wants and let her pay for it wit her card. Children love the idea of being independent. good luck in what ever you choose:wink:

I ended up buying her a lot of arts and crafts stuff- markers, paints, etc. She loves to do that kind of thing. Thanks for all the ideas!
