Body Bugg question??

I have been thinking of getting a Bodybugg but have a few questions. I bid on one on ebay without doing my research so I'm nervous that this will be THE time that I win! My first question is...can you just wear it and use the disply to see how many calories you burn without having to enter calories you eat and see the deficit. I can figure that out using this site. Just interested in knowing how many I burn in a day.
If I do win it it is the V2 version. Would I just register an account to start using it? And can it be worn while lifting and running? I have a heart rate monitor so thats not a huge deal.
Thanks for any advice that I may need!

Bumping my own...I accidentally won it, first thing I've ever won. So I really need some help! How do I get an account without having to buy the whole system? And the questions I asked in the above thread.

I don't own one so I can't tell you 100% but I believe it comes with a trial period and information will probably be with your armband when you get it. If it is used (trial already used) or does not, then you can go to the link below to sign up for the web tracking.

I have a BodyMedia Fit, which I believe is made by the same people who make the BodyBugg. I won mine on eBay as well. I went to their website and created an account and then followed their steps to download the sync software.
The last research I did, you can ONLY get the data by uploading it: there is no display. Same holds true for the BMF.
Yes, you are expected to ware it all day. Even when working out. Take the workout calories with a grain of salt though.
The BMF has the ability to log food, but I use this site instead. I got my BMF simply so I could get a better picture of what my TDEE is on non-workout days. I too use a HRM to get workout calories.
Hope that offers some help.0 -
Hello,
I had the BodyBugg for almost 2 years and LOVED it until it didn't like me no more. I developed an allergic reation to the nickel backing and could no longer wear it. I now have the FITBIT.
As for your questions:
can you just wear it and use the disply to see how many calories you burn without having to enter calories you eat and see the deficit. I can figure that out using this site - YES - the display will show you your calorie burn per day without having to log into the website, if you bought the digital display - this is a wrist watch. Not sure about the new V3 version as I had the V2, which didn't display unless you also had the wrist watch.
As for creating an account, you should be able to go to www.bodybugg.com and register your armband - they do charge you to use their website to upload your data and track your progress - I think it is 9.95 month. I haven't used the BB in 1.5 years now, so the proce may be higher unless you buy a yearly membership, then its cheaper.
The BB can be worn for any activity except swimming - just make sure to really clean the back after an intense workout as the sweat can interact with the backing and your skin.
Good luck to you.0 -
I have one. You don't have to log your food on the website if you don't want. Bodybuggs are pretty cool. They even tell you how well you slept if you wear it to bed. It also counts your steps. Just a word of advice, if you do spinning or biking wear it on your calf, not your arm. It doesn't work as well.0

Thanks to everyone!
claudette: thank you I think your answer was just what I was looking for. It does have the display so I dont have to have and pay for the subscription am I reading that correctly? I track on here just want to know my daily burn instead of guessing, the guessing is driving me crazy! I feel like I'm not eating enough but would like some data to support that!
I've read that these type don't do well for exercising, but they do in your experience?
Thanks everyone! I'm a little more excited now about my accidental purchase!0
