tracking Sugars

MFP "allows" me 48g of sugars a day. Here is my problem- a regular sized banana is listed at 19g of sugars and plain non-fat greek yogurt has 5. That's 1/2 of my day, right there. (and not even a whole meal) As you probably know, there isn't much (good or bad) without some sugar value.
Just the "recommended" daily fruit servings would put me over. Is the MFP off base on sugars?
Thoughts?
