I just started doing the P90 X videos and I don't know how I am suppose to post it on my exercise log. What do you post it as? I thought that I could do it for circuit training but I can't post it as the whole 58 mins because we warm up and cool down during that time (and he talks a lot).
Thanks

Hi there! I was wondering the same thing. I started doing the P90X but have recently switched over to the Insanity workouts. I've just been posting my Insanity workouts under Aerobics: High Impact. I'm also a member of www.sparkpeople.com and some of those guys are posting P90x under high impact aerobics too. Hope this helps.

The best way is to use a heart rate monitor to accurately determine the number of calories burned and then create your own exercise.

You can always list your own (create your own) exercise and log it as such. I leave it as cardio because logging strength training doesnt work right. I know what I did and how much I burned and weather or not it was cardio or strength and quite frankly thats all that matters!:)

I add all my dvds in the My Exercise section. Then when I work out I search for it, select it and add calories burned based on my HRM. Especially, P90x. Calories burned vary SO much from person to person on these, that even if it was in the database it would be unreliable. You'll only have to enter them in once, then after that you search for it, like you would any other exercise. I log them all (even the strength training ones) under "cardio" because of how much I burn. I don’t log strength training reps etc. but this because I am not really tacking that. If you decide to use mfp instead of their logs to track your reps, weights etc then you will have to enter it it twice. There are no calories added to your daily limit for strength.

BEST THING TO DO IS GOOGLE HOW MANY CALORIES YOU BURN WITH THE WORKOUT DVD NAME YOU DID FOR THAT DAY. YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND THAT INFO ONLINE. THEN COME ON MFP AND GO INTO EXERCISE AND "CREATE" THE WORKOUT AS P90X AND PUT ALL THE INFO IN. FOR HOW MANY CALS. BURNED AND SETS YOU DID..

I'm just starting P90 and wondered how to log this...cardio vs strength. Excellent advice! Thank you!

Just a suggestion regarding finding the calorie burn online... the HRM is going to give you YOUR specific totals...and you'll see that those totals will change from workout to workout... your effort will change from day to day so better to get your accurate reading than a generalized 'projected' calorie burn... IMHO
