Looking for insight.

I've been using MFP Since Feb 13th. I have worked out more in the last week and a half than I have for a very very long time. The scale is not showing my efforts (the scale is not moving AT ALL). I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight as to what may be the cause of that? It's hard to keep going when the work doesn't show that it's paying off.

It's due to the water retained by your muscles as part of the recovery process after you start a new exercise program or increase the intensity. It's not the sort of plateau you need to worry about, as it's self limiting and will balance itself out in the end.0

Hi there,
I've been here for just over a month. This week I din't lose a pound BUT to
cheer myself up, I tried on clothes that are too small/tight and was cheered
up no end when they were all more loose than they were a month ago. The
scale isn't always the best measure of sucess.
Don't be upset but keep going and also, I'd reccomend taking pictures in a
tight outfit and keeping it to compare when feeling as though not getting anywhere.
Good luck on your journey

So many "outside" influences can affect the scale - - hormones, lack of sleep, stress.... As discouraging as not seeing that *&%$! number on the scale drop can be (I know, I've been there!), try not to let it get you off track. Keep making the right choices towards your goals and you will achieve them!0

Don't focus too much on the scale. instead get yourself a cloth or flexible tape measure and measure yourself. keep track every 2 weeks or so. You will notice a difference. remember, muscle can replace fat; pound-for-pound, but will be smaller, so even though you may weigh the same, you could be leaner and stronger!

Totally agree. Measure yourself. Way more accurate.0 -
Thank you all! I'll have to take some measurement tonight. I'm going to keep on keeping on...cuz that's the only option.
