completely in stride........actually a thanks is typical though I'll probably say the same if they're being rude, though the thanks comes out differently as well \m/

i used to shrug them off, because i'm rather shy.

lately, i've been teaching my self to really hear the compliment for what it's worth, and say thank you, because i think it's the gracious thing to do.

    THis

Compliments on my personality I take quite well. My looks...not so much.

Sometimes I manage to choke out a "Thank you" while I'm trying not to turn beet red. Other times I totally ignore the compliment and change the subject. It's like it never happened!

I always say "thank you" and make an effort not to think they need glasses if they're complimenting my looks.

Husband gets a huge smile, and an assertion that he's completely biased.

I enjoy giving and receiving compliments! It’s a great way to feel good about yourself and help motivate someone else.

We can all be critical and really hard on ourselves, so it's really nice when someone else takes the time to tell you what a great job you’re doing...

for me it triggers the same response as being made fun of. It makes me real uncomfortable, I try to hide it the best I can though.

Not great, usually awkward to not believing they are telling the truth.
Am getting better but still is what is.

Not the best that I probably could. I'm skeptic at heart, so I try to figure out if the person is being serious or not first. I either go between "Yeah, I know, thanks  " or "..thanks..:ohwell: " The first is more of a self-defense mechanism which comes off way obnoxious and people probably think I actually mean it and the second is me just accepting it (which I try to do more of). Generally, I take character compliments better than compliments about my appearance. There is a guy at work who said the other week "I really like your hair like that." I was in a hurry and pulled it back in a clip, it was definitely a bad hair day. I have a hard time believing those kind of compliments that don't make sense.

Generally I harumph and snip, "Well, it's about freakin' time you noticed!"

    Love this! Made me LOL.

I usually just say 'aww, thanks' or 'thank you.' I love a good compliment, esp in regard to my weight loss. It gives me a little extra motivation because even though I want to do this for myself I just love it when someone notices. It reaffirms to me that my hard work is paying off.
