Polar FT4 syncing with other machines

I have a problem! I have a polar ft4 and I love it! But today I was using it on the elliptical at my gym which uses a polar heart rate monitor.. And I realized that my heart rate was displaying not only on my machine.. But on his as well ( my heart rste syncs to the machine even if im not holding the sensors while wearing the transmitter) Every time mine went up a beat his would , etc... Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix this ??

    I don't know how to fix that problem, but i will watch the machine next to me tomorrow! I just discovered that mine linked to my elliptical today. I wish there were a way to put in how much weight and incline you are lifting and working at. The Polar is 250 calories burned less than my elliptical because i do the elliptical at its highest setting which is 5 and 20. The polar doesn't know that though.
