    Gangsters are so stuck up! Jeez! I asked a student of (I'm a tutor) mine can I roll with him and his homies and he said "Hell naw shorty you like stickers, hiigh fives and happy stuff" I always offer him a high five but he always decline I always put Hello Kitty stickers or scented stickers on his worksheets and essays and he gets soo upset! How can I gain acceptance from my gangster student? How many months will it take for him to give me a high five?

    but yeah I teach reading and comprehension. :)



    Maybe some creative out of the box reading assignments more "up his alley" subjects he can relate to,Try to think....If he thought reading was cool...what would he read?

    I asked him and he said idk but I'm going to tell him to go to Amazon and pick 5 books that strike his interest. After that we're going to the library to get his card and those books.

    I grew up in the "ghetto" and my boyfriend is a "gangster/thug" even though I nowhere near act like I came from the upbringing that I came from.

    keep trying with the high five when i started my weight loss journey my mentor always high fived me. i thouht how dumb but after she left the gym to work closer to home. i'll tell you i miss it a lot.

    I'm a student and my major is Childhood devlopment. I'm a paid by the hour tutor parents or guardians pay me by the hour to be a reading tutor. Sometimes I do it for free because I love teaching, learning, understanding new things. Plus I'm gaining experience by doing this.

    My mom is an English teacher at a really diverse high school with a very large urban population. She was going over some lesson and was trying to figure out how to get her students interested in learning figures of speech and different literary tools and I joked that she should have them dissect a Lil Wayne song.

    Funny story, she listened to "6 foot 7 foot" by Lil Wayne, wrote down excerpts, and presented them to the class as a way of learning figurative language in pop culture. No joke. Her students freaking LOVE her now.

    My mom teaches "at risk" aka gangster kids and they love her because she jokes with them and pretends to be gangster although she is the farthest from it. They get a kick out of her.
