diffuse sky radiation: blue has a short wavelength of (EL) spectrum therefore it is easier to scatter in the same area and because it's scattered more than other (EL) e.g red the human eye "perceives" it be blue.

However this is not true when light is almost at a tangent to the relative surface as blue and green light pass over each other more frequently in the same space causing a red glowing effect some refer to this as a sunset or sunrise. (refer to Rayleigh scattering)

Really? I thought it was blue. But I believe EVERYTHING that EVERYONE tells me. ESPECIALLY people on MFP.

I would tell you that the sky is more chartreuse than true green, but I never argue!

I can refer to rayleigh scattering or the refractive index if you like.

Now normally, when people type "LOL," they're grossly exaggerating.

In this case, I actually LOL'd.

Thank you. My students are confused and off-task, but I am appreciative.

I live in southern Arizona, where we have the most gorgeous sunsets in the world. The sky IS green, and purple, and blue, and yellow, and orange, and...

All you really need to know is that my sunsets are prettier than your sunsets.

You're just jealous because you DID have to "spring forward" - and because I can wear tank tops comfortably outside at 7 a.m. and not get cold. :)
