Ever feel like you're getting addicted to exercise

Somewhat. I LOVE working out but you don't want to overdo it and hurt yourself. I think it is because of the hormones that are released into the body give you a rush. But people can get seriously addicted to working out so it you just need to control yourself
Cheers to working out and a healthier life :drinker: (from the waterbottle of course!)

I'm totally off If I don't workout. I find its a great place to escape, turn on some tunes and release.0

I wish.0

Yes. Sometimes I get 3 different workouts in a day. I try not to overdo it though.0
-
Is that a bad thing? I'm fine with being an exercise addict.0
-
I wish then maybe I wouldn't try to find excuses not to do it :laugh:0

Got to agree 110% with you.0 -

Totally agree! I was sitting here sort of bored, contemplating going to the gym but I already went this afternoon!!! Worse things to be addicted to for sure!!!0

I've definitely thought about it but if exercise is my only *addiction* then i figure I'm in pretty good shape (pun intended)0

No :blushing: :ohwell:0

I couldn't agree more. I think I'm definitely getting re-addicted again as I use to be when I was younger, and I feel AWESOME. Keep up the good work, you look great girl.0

I got my workout in this morning but I feel like I could go for a run in the park after dinner. It's definately not necessary but I love how I feel when I'm done.
Getting addicted... was there a few years ago, I'm done addicted now. LOL0 -
yes, not that it shows that much. On the weekend, I finish one workout, eat, and then I'm jonesing for another. During the week, I'm frustrated on days with only one workout. After three workouts on Saturday, I'm frustrated that my body is too tired for another. I just hope it lasts!0

Alas...no...hence the reason you don't see any "skin pix" of me0

I feel the same way, but i almost feel like being addicted to exercise is the best thing to be addicted to! I went to the gym this morning and feel like I could go back again, and the only thing stopping me are these gas prices that dont make it worth it because I know I don't NEED to go again. Yesterday, same thing happened and I went for a run around the neighborhood because the weather was so nice out! Is there such a thing as too much exercise/should I take a rest day? Because quite honestly, I feel terrible if I don't go to the gym everyday....its probably mental but I cant get myself to NOT go no matter how busy I am I always make sure to squeeze in at least half an hour of cardio! Thoughts?0

Yes, there is a such thing as too much exercise actually. Or rather there is a such thing as "exercise addiction" in a negative sense. Here's some info:
Recognizing addiction
The exercise addict has lost his balance: Exercise has become overvalued compared to elements widely recognized as giving meaning in a full life -- work, friends, family, community involvement -- in short, the fruits of our humanity.
When emotional connections are passed up in favor of additional hours of training; when injury, illness and fatigue don't preempt a workout; when all free time is consumed by training -- exercise addiction is the diagnosis.
Warning lights for addiction include withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, irritability, and depression that appear when circumstances prevent you from working out.
To the addict, there is no exception to the rule "the more the better." More training, more hours, more miles, more intensity: more is absolutely always better. Anything that interferes with the lust for more exercise is resented.0 -
Umm sadly no. LOL, I just would rather not exercise at all.
BUT I am definitely used to it and do feel badly when I miss a workout.0 -
Somewhat (if that makes any sense). When I go to bed at night, I am so excited to think of the workout I am going to have the next morning. Then, when the alarm goes off, I just want to hit the snooze button about 20x.
But I don't. :happy:0 -
I hope this happens to me0
