Getting rid of it means diet. You can't tell your body where to lose the fat, you just have to burn more calories then you consume and wait for it to go away.

Sorry, no magic answer to this one.

edit: used "weight" instead of "wait"! It's a fitness site, what can I say?

Yeah, you can pretty much count on not being able to spot reduce. So, keep in your calorie deficit and do some heavy lifting, in addition to your cardio, at a gym to help build lean muscle. Then, and only then, can you begin to see a difference

As said, you just have to have patience and wait for it to come off. I had almost as many rolls on my back as I did in my front, but it is definitely starting to go away now that I am losing (and I am not doing anything specific to target it). Everyone has their problem areas (mine, I think, are going to be my arms), but be patient, just do regular exercise and eat healthy and it should eventually just go down naturally.

Thanks been spot on my calorie count for a week now and started walking. Waiting on a few dvds to come in for more of a cardio work out. I just got a set of resistance bands and I have a bowflex but not sure really how to use them correctly.

Thanks, My back is really not my worst trouble area, id say my baby pooch or thighs are and they are a whole new ball park . I know its not going to come off in a day but was looking to see if you had to target that area or would it slowly go down like the rest of your body when you exercise and eat right.

As someone who was once defeated by back fat and has since slayed the beast.... Make sure your calorie deficit isn't TOO large.

When I had too large of a calorie deficit, I didn't eat enough to maintain my muscle mass, and my stupid, rotten, evil body decided it would rather hold onto my muffin top and back fat. But eating to lose 1 lb. a week, and then as I got closer to my goal, a half pound a week, with adequate protein and especially since adding strength training, I was able to lose the fat and keep the muscle.

I used to have back rolls that could probably have been fairly accurately described as back boobs.
    Not anymore:

You can't spot-reduce, but you can focus on getting fit and healthy ALL OVER. As others have said - a nutritious, well-balanced diet (as in "way of eating," not as in "I'm on a diet") and exercise - especially strength training - will make a big difference.
