Weighing and Measuring Food

When should you weigh and when should you measure foods? Not to be completely stupid, and I am sure the answer is simple but I am stumped. Foods are marked as ounces. How can you tell which to do? I understand you measure liquids and weigh chicken and beef but what about stuff like nuts?

Weighing is almost always going to be more accurate than measuring. If you can't weigh, then measure. Otherwise, always weigh.0

I weighed everything until I understood true portion size. I love my food scale.0
