Okay, maybe not 'first time'; dispite having MFP for over a year, I only checked out the accompanying web component last night - and I have to say, I'm hooked :)

During that time I have competely rethought the 'funny little calorie app' that I sporadically input probably quite inaccurate information into.

I have also increased my calorie intake from 1200 (and frequently less... But also occasionally alot more!) and started including my excercise information, AND started to attempt to 'eat back my excercise calories', which seems to be a bone of contention on the site, but when I thought about it, actually made alot of sense. (I am appalled about how freakin' happy I was to eat FOOD - I hadn't realsed how much I had been thinking about those 1200 calories!)

SO! I hope to lose some weight, tone my body and increase my fitness.

I am extremely motivated by all of the before/ after pics I've seen - some of you seem to have amazing results in really short time frames - good for you! I am secretly thinking about doing a 30 Day Shred too :)

Thank you, and I look forward to continuing this journey with all of you.

Hi, and welcome to the website. The app is great but the web community is better

Hey, cheers! This does seem to be a fairly close knit community. Thank you for the friend application

I have learned a lot from the web community in the 3ish weeks I have been on here. When I see someone on the boards that is in a similar situation to me (Big-Tall guy with over 100# to lose) or someone who actually seems to know something about nutrition I friend them. Don't worry too much about fast result, worry about lasting results and a lifestyle you can live with. From what I can see you are heading that direction anyway.

    Welcome!!
